Associate Organizations

The American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) frequently collaborates with other organizations to enrich the services and resources we can bring our members. Here are some of the organizations with which we are proud to be associated:


Advocates for Independent Business

Advocates for Independent Business (AIB) is a coalition of trade associations and other organizations that represent locally owned, independent businesses serving a consumer market. AIB’s member organizations collectively represent over 100,000 small businesses that employ more than 600,000 people and provide over $10 billion in annual payroll.


Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada

NETS, a network of independent specialty toy storeowners, toy manufacturers and sales agents. Individually, we are each dedicated to being a superior source of quality, educational toys within our communities. All of our member's stores are a great source of new and innovative products for children of all ages. As a group, we share the values of customer service and community involvement and look for ways that our collaborative network can be of benefit to Canadian families.


The American Booksellers Association

The American Booksellers Association is a national, not for profit trade association, and exists to protect and promote the interests of its members: independently owned bookstores, large and small, with storefront locations in towns and cities nationwide.


The American Independent Business Alliance, AMIBA

The American Independent Business Alliance is a national 501c3 non-profit organization helping communities launch and successfully operate an Independent Business Alliance® (IBA), "buy independent, buy local" campaigns, pro-local policies, and other initiatives to support local entrepreneurs and vibrant local economies.

As the trade association for North American producers and importers of toys, games and entertainment products for the youth market, TIA represents more than 535 manufacturers and importers of toys who account for approximately 85% of all toys distributed in North America.
