Kathleen McHugh, CAE
President
Kathleen joined the association in August of 1998 as the executive director. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the association, staffing, financial reporting, as well as all programs and projects undertaken by the volunteers and staff. She heads a staff of three full time employees, and multiple expert consultants in the area of public relations and marketing to carry out the associations strategic directives. She is the public spokesperson for the association to the consumer media, all trade media and trade related associations. She reports directly to the ASTRA Board of Directors. Daniel Elacqua
Membership & Technology Coordinator
Daniel joined the association in August 2010 as the Membership and Technology Coordinator. In this position, Daniel is responsible for managing the technology needs for the office, processing membership dues, new membership applications, and keeping membership information current. He is also responsible for managing the ASTRA website including updating information and technology as needed. His projects include ASTRA’s Best Toys for Kids Award program, ASTRA’s Excellence Awards, and the annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day project. Caryn Giznik
Membership & Program Coordinator
Caryn joined the association in March of 2010 as the Membership Assistant. Since then she has grown to take the position of Membership & Program Coordinator. Through weekly ebulletins and in the newsletter, Caryn is responsible for ASTRA’s overall communication strategy to ensure you know about programs and special projects that can help your business. Amanda Zawad
Meetings and Exhibit Manager
Amanda joins the ASTRA staff April 25th. She is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the ASTRA Marketplace & Academy. Her duties include exhibit sales, sponsorship and logistical planning for the current and future year conventions. In addition, Amanda will take the lead on the marketing of the convention to retailers and attendees.
